2011: Bad Movie Predictions!

I have just been looking about at some films that are to be this year, and believe me some of them are looking like failures. Not only uncalled films, but a 5th Final Destination Movie? I think its important for you all to know what to expect for this year, and here is some of the films I don't think are going to be very good. Well lets have a look of what rotten stuff is to arrive for us this year.

Puss in Boots:

Now this one really pisses me off. After four Shrek Films, two of which that were not so good   -being 3 & 4- you would think they would give up trying to pump stuff out of the story. Now I don't mind puss in boots as a character, Infact he was okay up until the fourth film. But after the fourth film I think the whole thing kind of went down.

The quote he says "Feed me, if you dare" is just not funny, and you can see they are trying to make it memorably and funny. It just didn't work for me. The film is taking place place before Shrek 2, when we first meet him. So it's a prequel. The film is set to be released in November 14, 2011. someone should have said about this film "Release me, if you dare".

Expectation of Badness Rating: 8/10

The Smurfs

I remember watching a few episodes of The Smurfs as a kid, but never a big fan of the show. But I really don't think it suits what is happening here! The plot is The Smurfs go into a forbidden Grotto and because it is a blue moon they are sucked into a magical portal.

So they end up in guess where. New York. That totally hasn't been an area for a film to take place a thousand times. The film is being released July 29, 2011. One thing I can say about this film is, No smurfin way! Overall I'm not all that worried because at least they're revamping The Smurfs. I'm sure kids are going to enjoy it which leaves the older audience left bored.

Expectation of Badness Rating: 5/10

Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World

There is unfortunately no images available for this. Remember Spy Kids 1? It was a pretty good film. then we had the second, bit of a let down. then we had Spy Kids 3-D. A technological advance into 3D (Or a revamp because there was 3D even in the 30's). The film revolves around twins Rebecca and Cecil who cannot get along with their stepmother, Marissa Cortez Wilson, who married their father, Wilbur, a spy-hunting reporter. Unknown to the twins, Marissa is a retired spy for the OSS (Organization of Super Spies) which has since become the world's top spy agency and former headquarters of the now-defunct Spy Kids division. I haven't got much to say for this film but, it's likely, almost certain, to be a failure critically and a box office failure. And guess what? Disney is distributing it. the official release date is August 19, 2011.

Expectation of Badness Rating: 8/10

Final Destination 5

Iv'e seen the first three Final Destinations and each one are just boring thriller movies. The title is very Ironic when the series has came this far isn't it? Number five takes place  twelve years after the explosion of Flight 180, Sam Lawton (Nicholas D'Agosto) has a premonition -something that happens a lot in the Final Destination series-  about the bridge he is on collapsing, killing him and many around him. As the vision becomes reality, Sam manages to save himself and a few others. However, Sam and his girlfriend Molly (Emma Bell), discover that Death is still after them and the ones who survived the gruesome accident. The film is set to be released August 12, 2011. But please, let this be the FINAL!

Expectation of Badness Rating: 7/10

A very Harold and Kumar Christmas
Just the thought of these films make me sick! They are the dumbest and lowest forms of comedy. What's so funny about two guys getting stoned? Well this film takes place six years after Guantanemo Bay, leaving Harold and Kumar estranged from one another with very different families, friends and lives. But Kumar arrives at Harold's door step during the holidays with a mysterious package in hand, he inadvertently burns down Harold's father-in-law's beloved Christmas tree. So they go hunting for a Christmas tree in New York. No way! New York! -you'll understand if you read The Smurfs section above-. The release date is November 4, 2011. This is the worst of the lot this year to expect (Excluding films released before today).

Expectation of Badness Rating: 9/10

Johnny English Reborn
The original Johnny English is an okay film, but nothing I really favour in. Returning, obviously, is Rowan Atkinson (who I'm sure is tired of always being referred to as Mr. Bean), and it takes place 8 years after the previous film. Since then, things have went downhill for Johnny, and 5 years before this film takes place he was sent on a mission in Mozambique that went terribly wrong. Since then, he has been living in a cave located somewhere in Tibet, hiding in shame, regret and recrimination due to the mission's failure. He's given another chance and is sent on a mission. Several rogue Southeast Asian nations have begun to develop nuclear weapons and they require him to ensure that China is on their side. Thus they need him to foil a plot by a band of assassins to kill the Chinese Premier. I'm not sure how to think about this, but I don't feel it really deserves a sequel. It's likely not to do very well critically and a the box office, but only time will tell. The
release date is October 7, 2011.

Expectation of Badness Rating: 6/10

Thanks for taking a look at my predictions of this years next could-be-bad films.

  1. Puss in boots has a chance to be good in my opinion, I mean most of the Shrek films were at least enjoyable. But the rest I agree on. Great post!

  2. Nice post. I have to agree on most of them. I think that THE SMURFS has looked particularly bad in previews. I will still see Harold and Kumar. I don't know why, but I have a soft spot for those stoners.
