Anticipated films for the last 4 months of 2011

We are now 3/4 into this year, and it has been a good year for films. Some of my most anticipated films have come out of this year, and thee are still more films I cannot wait to see. So far we've had films like "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2", "Rango" and "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" and more is to come. Here is my list of anticipated films for the final quarter of this year on an anticipation scale of 1 to 10.

The Muppets

Date: November 23
It is an interesting idea for them to do this but I just hope that modern cinema comedy does not ruin this. I am looking forward to seeing this but in all retrospectives, it is a real gamble. I can see it getting savage reviews, and I can see it geting graceful ones. Similar to the TV show there will be cameo appearances. And boy what a lot there is! Jack Black, Billy Crystal, Whoopi Goldberg, Ben Stiller and loads more! Only time can tell so I hope Kermit and the gang star in a great film. Although, I don't think it comes to the UK until February 2012.
Anticipation Rating: 8

The Artist
Date: October 19

I have been considering of making a small silent film in remembrance and homage to them, and well, here it is! Someone beat me to it, but boy am I excited! I doubt this will get to my theatres but I'll get to see it some way. The reason it is going to be exciting is because of how different it is going to be. It will follow the career of a silent star during the rise of talkie pictures, and this time period has fascinated me for quite some time now. I just hope it's good and it is my most anticipated for the rest of this year.

Hugo

Date: November 23
This will be Martin Scorses's first kids fantasy film that sounds like an interesting prospect. So lets hope good old' Scorsese pulls it off.

Anticipation Rating: 6

The Thing

Date: October 14
Oh look another remake. Or is it? This film is set 3 days before John Carpenter's film. Now I know the chances of this being bad is very likely and it is certin that it will be CGI  crammed, but I think it will be reasonably good.

Anticipation Rating:7

The Adventures of Tin Tin: The Secret of the Unicorn

Date: October 26
Steven Spielberg with an animated film, now this should be interesting! the idea is kind of mediocre but I'm sure Spielberg will pull it off. Tin Tin is an old cartoon character, and now he is getting a complete reboot. Daniel Craig will star in this and also Andy Serkis! Don't let us down Spielberg!
Anticipation Rating:6

  1. The animation in Tin Tin looks absolutely fantastic! Unfortunately, that (and the fact that it's something even I remember from childhood) is the only thing inspiring me to see it. Plot looks typical. That silent film looks like it could be worth a look too, though... Interesting to see the black and white style recaptured in a way I haven't seen since schindler's list...

  3. I've seen traliers for Hugo. It looked a bit silly with its slapstick comedy. Spielberg's support of 3D has made him look like a tool of late but the racist Belgium cartoon adapation might be ok. There that Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy but screw all films this year. I want The Hobbit. December 2010, can't wait.

Cool list. I'm really looking forward to Tintin, since I'm a huge fan of the comics and the trailers look great.

  9. Great blog. I hadn't heard of The Artist until now. I just watched the trailer and it looks very interesting. Regardless of what people say, I think The Thing looks like it could be good. The other ones look interesting too.

  14. Yes I want to check the above, and now "The Artist" as well which I only hear now but I can see why its intriguing, and its looks so convincing from the trailer like an old classic silent film. I should keep it in mind, but seems like the French did it again. Awesome blog entry ;)
