February in Review

Well, February has been a very progressive month for me and movies. I have seen more 9/10+ films in this month than any other I know of, with films such as Casino, Wild Strawberries, Everything You Wanted To Know About Sex and Reservoir Dogs finally coming to my viewing eyes. In this motnh I have been exploring directors to try and broaden my liking, and two of which I have now completely fallen in love with: Martin Scorsese and Woody Allen- two geniuses. Each viewing I had were new films to me, with no re-watches at all. Let's go over this months viewings.

One thing that this month has done is changed my favourite films of all time lists, with many high ratings. For March, I was wondering exploring actors to start making some more 'actor overviews' as it is something I have not in a long time. I have not seen many films form particular actors (by that I mean 8+ performances), but I am eager to do justified and worthy overviews of: Al Pacino, Dustin Hoffman, Brad Pitt and Robert DeNiro. Any ideas for some more modern actors worth noting to explore a little?

  1. Really good list from the ones I've seen, I would have given Lebowski a higher rating although very glad u loved Reservoir Dogs and Casino especially, love it - it's a masterpiece :) although I respect Rashomon as a film it wasn't much for me, didn't find it to be that spectacular.

  2. Lucky. I haven't the time or the money to see 27 films in one month. I'm lucky if I can barely crack fifteen. Hopefully things will pick up. Anyway, excellent list, and I'm glad you enjoyed The Big Lebowski and A Serious Man. Oh, and I intend on catching up on reading your reviews in the next couple of days.

  3. That's a pretty good set of movies you've got there. Glad to see that you were able to catch up on some Kurosawa and Tarantino for the first time.

  4. I LOVE Casino, one of the few movies I rated 10/10, it's definetly my favorite movie by Scorsese

  5. I'm glad I skipped Zookeeper, then. Everyone at my work keeps going on about how much they loved it, but I am NOT going there.

  6. Oh god they loved it? I am sorry, but your colleagues are immature. Just kidding haha

  7. When I think back to it I just love it more. It was just such a wonderfully complex drama. Scorsese, De Niro, Pesci, Stone, it all made a very fine film indeed.

  8. Yes, they are two very great directors. Tarantino is a modern movie maker whose films can be very modest and stylish, but be artistically brilliant. Kurosowa is just a legend!

I just wish I'd have enough time to watch has much films as you did in one month. With my new job and writing. Time to write and watch films is now very hard to find... I would give a lot of money to watch for the first time many films you've just discovered in February. Just Rashomon, Wild Strawberries, and Fargo are some of my favorite films.
